What worries me – I was reading about it this morning is that you’ve only had one week to rehearse this play – that must be pretty terrifying?
Yeah – I think I remember my lines. The Soho Theatre is a brand new theatre where it is. It’s been around for a while but it’s just opened in Dean Street in Soho. And for its opening month they are doing four plays a week at a time and you rehearse for a week they’re short plays – you rehearse for a week , get them in there and on for a week.
ISo we have to book our tickets really early if we want to see you.
Yes – its sold quite well. All the productions have sold really well and I think that’s a testament to what people want to see. There are big theatres but there’s not a lot of scope for young new writers and smaller productions.
That’s exciting but it’s very different from SNF which was such a highly stylised performance.Are you relishing that prospect? Are you?
Yeah I do enjoy particularly a smaller space and its nice not to have to lift girls up for a while although it’s very nice lifting girls up of course. I really love straight theatre.

Fair to say that catapulted you to fame. How did you cope with all the attention that was suddenly thrust upon you. After that
I slept a lot . It was wonderful . It was a wonderful experience doing that. Being able to open it and being able to experience something like that.
I read in one of the papers that you had a “highly athletic workout but you didn’t even break into a sweat the whole time. Is that true?
That was because they were probably in the back rows. Believe me I was sweating. Highly absorbent clothing
And your hitting the big screen this year.
Yes I did a tap dancing film in Australia called Bootmen with the guys from Tap Dogs and that’s being released about September October and a Disney film called Coyote Ugly which is being released about September time as well.
