Saturday Night Fever Show Reports
Monday 22nd March Monday but the theatre was packed with desperate women. Hair was high and armpits were warm as the "love god" strutted out to screams of hysterical joy. Yes - it was Ben Richards' first night! Hee hee hee. No the quiffed one was in fine form, in very good voice at the start of his last 4 weeks. He looked very smouldering throughout. High on the acting power too....
In Boogie Shoes he showed no signs of being in Tish's bad books despite the weekend's shenigans. Lots of groping, mugging and animated discussions.
The funniest thing was that members of the audience (lots of people doing the actions - people, take it from me, you look really really silly) started to clap randomly on the off beat. With one look from Adam, he and Richard started to do the same and soon they were all at it.
During the encore, Adam brought the screaming crowd to silence. "enough with the cheering! It's all on tape anyway. Why are you all standing up?" He then made a very well remembered long speech about NSPCC for which there was a collection.
Seeing him in his new glasses later, he said he'd been trying to remember all the statistics through the show and that's why he had a glazed expression. M&S bag in hand tonight and the usual one in tow. 31 shows left!!!! (CJ)
Tuesday 23rd March
Word has now clearly got round that Ads will be leaving us soon as the theatre was again packed to the rafters with screaming girls. The removal of the shirt is now becoming painful on the old ears and every wiggle of those gorgeous hips sends the Japanese girls on the end of the front row into multiple orgasms.
Show was actually quite tame by recent comparisons however Adam and Neet are so demob happy. Pulling faces and making eyes at each other so much that they just couldn't keep straight faces in the Dance Studio.
The front row had too extremes - a clutch of nutters including the aforementioned Japanese girls - doing all the actions and ours and Adam's "favourite" fan producing vast quantities of stuff from her bag and then pretending to fall asleep during YSBD. We had confiscated last week's offending hairbrush LOL.
Showing off a new shiny pink shirt but still sporting the old black trousers, hair getting wilder by the day. We reckon he's gonna try and leave it till the end of the run, when he will need a skip load full of gel to keep it in place.
Acting was tonight's strong point and the dancing during YSBD was breathtaking - those thighs will be the death of me - it's more than a girl can stand at such close quarters.
The Stage Door was packed, Simon Grieff was squealed at and thoroughly manhandled. Adam came out early (10.45) looking relaxed and without glasses or hat. He told us that he thought that fan was putting up "a cub scout camp" during Boogie Shoes or was she "building a dam".
When asked for a kiss by a girl whose birthday it was, he very politely said "Sorry I don't do that" and then added with a big mishievous "Don't you know its illegal"
Wednesday 24th March - Matinee
The wild man of the woods with the bucket of gel on his head hit the front of the stage grinning all over his face. No L which meant a huge amount of flirting.
Disco scene Annette tripped as she went up to the podium resulting in"Drunk again huh" and Ad's slurring his words for the remainder of the scene. At the dance studio - Neet and Ads have a competition to sing MTAW with there teeth glued together and when they danced to it in the dance contest Mike and Seb doing a ridiculous dance on the podium. Resulting in mock telling off from Ads at the end.
Richard being really bad - came out of the DJ box and kissed Ad's smack on the lips - Ads doing URGGH all round the stage. Richard calling after him - The floor is yours BIG BOY.
Also much hilarity at Chesters big hair and R making comparisons to a microphone. Ultimate R missed his cue to announce the winners of the dance contest - Ads having to say BULLSHIT again in a really loud voice to get RC's
attention.(HL)
