 Saturday Night Fever Show Reports

1st - 4th March 1999

Monday 1st March
Omens were good - saw 3 Adam buses on the way to work this morning. Then waiting outside the main doors to meet CJ the man himself walked past looking fabby in his combat trousers with his hair all shiny,wild and wavy. And that was all before the show. The show another Monday night cracker with Rich W deputising for Mike - who must be having a rest preparing for his turn in the spotlight as Tony on Friday and Saturday. David PB playing Frank Senior and Peter Bish as Mr Fusco. No Laetitia!!!
Not too much japing. Incident of note was when Rich W lost the basketball when he was meant to be shooting and scoring - resulting in him scrambling about at the back of the stage and the guys killing themselves with laughing. Adam looking increasingly tired as the show went on and absolutely exhausted when he came out the Stage Door and signed autographs and had his picture taken with lots of little girls .

Tuesday 2nd March
Same understudies as yesterday with the exception of the fact that Laetitia was back and Richard Calkin was off - no doubt watching himself on Eastenders. So David PB in those shorts - nuf said. Adam in good shape although not 100% but still smirked when he got to the front of the stage.
Funniest moment of the night - in the Monty gym class the girl who arrives late lost her wig when David pushed her. She let out a scream and looked at the wig laying on the floor - then kicked it to the side. Everybody in stitches. Boogie Shoes girls still "jiggling" according to Mr Garcia and Pili still trying her bestest to balance for the one -handed lift in Lara's stead. Daryn still being a sweetie pie and encouraging her. Wednesdya 3rd March Matinee
Even more understudies this afternoon meaning Daryn played Joey and JC stood in as Cesar - almost managing the one-handed lift with Pili. All the female members of the Manero family played by understudies.
Girls were so thin on the ground that at the part in Night Fever where the first girl should come across the front of the stage to dance with Adam - there was no girl - so Ads had to improvise waving his arms about with both him and Tara in absolute fits.
Ad Lib response to Boogie Shoes girls today was - "Anyone fancy a glass of milk" - he is getting worse. Tired boy needs his two days off - quite how he's gonna manage tonight's performance is anyones guess but we have an intrepid reporter on the scene so check in tomorrow for the next exciting installment of Adam's four day week. oday" and left him climbing into a taxi.

Wednesday 3rd March Evening
Adam looking fresher than this afternoon with a wicked twinkle in his eye. - Wonder what he was up to between performances - resting of course
Highlight of first half when audience really laughed a nice girl/slut joke and Annette was pondering question - Adam pointed out into the audience and said "Look even they know you can't be both" Second half quite paradoxical with Adam looking perkier than ever during the dance numbers but knackered during the acting scenes. Stage Door busy with a shattered Adam emerging at 10.50 to sign a few autographs and looking very tired and lost. (JM) Don't worry boy - few days off coming up.

Thursday 4 March (Adam's 5th and final show this week)
Show again understudy ridden - still no Richard Calkin, Peter Bishop playing F Frank and Daryn playing Fusco (this one really cracks me up). Adam in a generally high mood - demob happy re days off and Michael back and in a good mood - clearly looking forward to tomorrow. Lots of Front Row flirting and a fairly enthusiatic full house. No major incidents although as they were going of at the end Ads bent over for a good minute and had Simon whipping his butt with his tie !!!!! Adam also took Doreen's hankie and wiped off Bobby's forehead during the disco scene. Stage Door not too bad. Michael came out with his hair all slicked back into a Tony quiff - obviously practicing for tomorrow.
Adam in fairly high spriits when he emerged just after 11 o'clock with his food shopping. Re future plans: He confirmed that he was going home in May for 4 months but would be coming back to London to live/work in the Autumn. So don't panic girls - IT'S OFFICIAL - ADAM IS COMING BACK TO STAY. Pictures from last night including Mikes hair being developed today so check Latest on Saturday.
