The Original Adam Garcia

Vi get fired etc

Very little Adam in this bit.!!!!!!

Violet is angry, depressed, confused. She goes back inside the bar, where Lil awaits her.

Lil says, "I told you not to break the rules. No boyfriends in the bar." Vi says, "Oh, so now I can't have a boyfriend?" Lil says that this is business, and she fires her. Vi pleads with her… "I thought you were my friend!" And Lil replies, "I never said I was your friend; this is my home, I'm married to the bar. I'd sleep here if I wasn't afraid of walking across the floor barefoot in the morning. Sorry Jersey, you broke the rules." Frustrated, Vi says, "Stop with 'the rules' already! It's a bar for christsakes!" Lil sighs, hands Vi her jacket and says, "Then what are you so upset about?"

Vi is at her apartment, crying. She thumbs through old photos of her and her mother, and cries some more. The next scene shows her immersed in her music.

Her song "Please Remember" plays behind scenes of her practicing, and then she's on a bus to go back to New Jersey for Gloria's wedding. She's sad, and it doesn't help to see young lovers sitting across from her, totally engrossed in each other.

The scene cuts back to the bridge where she and Kevin watched the sun rise, and Kevin is there, reminiscing perhaps? He's leaning on his convertible, looking quite sad as well…all the while, "Please Remember" is playing. (It's a great shot of Adam, shot from nearly ground level, looking up at him, with the cityscape behind him. He looks dejected. Every woman in the theater wants to hug him at this point…well, all through the movie, but especially now!)

The next scene is at Gloria's wedding reception. Her new husband, Danny, is a happy drunk, riding on the shoulders of one of his groomsmen, while a disco song plays (can't remember exactly the tune, but something about how sexy he is, or what a great lover he is.) Gloria looks lovingly at Danny and says,"I think Danny's the perfect choice for my first marriage!"

Violet's dad is also at the reception, but avoids his daughter until Gloria asks them to have their picture taken together. They finally talk, and he admits that their estrangement is because for the first time ever, he was ashamed of his daughter. "I never thought that would happen" he says.
